I'm pleased to say Scotland is being represented south of the border at the Connected 2013 Exhibition at the Patchings Art Centre, Nottingham.

2013 is about to kick off. Upcoming events include the first wedding of the season at the MacDonald Forest Hills Hotel on Loch Ard in heart of the Trossachs. We were out there yesterday having a reccie. Really hope the weather will be as good on the day as it was yesterday!

Immediately prior to that I have 2 local charity events - a Spring Dance for under 18s in aid of Help the Heros, and the Dunblane's Big Fat Wedding in aid of Wobbly Williams (Funding Neurological Clinical Research). I'm official photographer at both events and will be running a studio booth - so much fun!!! Hope to see you there.

Well, I hope 2013 has started as well for you as it has for me. Significant milestones include getting my tax return in before the deadline, finalising print runs for some studio shoots that took place in December, and working on ideas for several forthcoming events. Refresh of this site long overdue, so hope to get cracking on that this week.

I've been so busy and despite promising an overhaul of this website, I haven't yet done it. Busy mostly down to work - the studio has been booked every day this week, and the results are amazing. Some very cute little toddlers, gorgeous teenagers and fun families! I've also been doing a fair amount of galavanting, from the most remote parts of Rannoch Moor to the Isle of Tiree, I've been out and about stocking up on more stunning landscapes of Scotland.

There's an exhibition running at Resonate in Alloa featuring some of my work which is going well, and as well as processing all the studio work, I'm developing new fliers, posters and a range of gift cards too. Have had loads of requests for calendars featuring my abandoned buildings....but one for next year I think. Ok back to work! And remember, my latest news and updates can be found here.

Another busy couple of weeks, managed to get some time off for a weekend down in Cumbria and have also been out and about in Perthshire and Dumfries & Galloway photographing landscapes and abandoned buildings. Portraits have been the main thrust finishing with 2 back to back on Sunday. The first was a Ruby Wedding Anniversary at the Hilton Dunblane Hydro, and the second was a fabulous 16th birthday shoot in the studio and out on location. Prints are selling well on the approach to Christmas and now is the time to think about booking in for family portraits - the ultimate personalised Christmas gift.

Last night was a real treat as I got to shoot Tammy's confirmation pictures. She looked absolutely amazing. Will upload more to the portraits gallery once they are ready so you can see for yourself.

I can cover any type of event, not just weddings. Assignments include: wedding anniversary, divorce parties, family and friend reunions, sports and engagements.

Studio portrait work also includes pets not just babies, kids and families. I've been asked to take photos of gerbils and even frogs...so no job is too strange. If it's easier I can come to you - just ask!

Phew, seems like August was the month of photoshoot parties. So much fun!

September has been great so far for photography assignments. Another photoshoot party for 12year olds, followed by a great Lighting course by John Denton, have a confirmation portrait session coming up along with a 16th birthday modelling shoot and a couple of family sessions with cute toddlers. But most of the emphasis this month will be on getting this website updated and adding the online payment/shopping cart facility. Prints are still selling well and I'm working on an a very large oak framed print of Plockton right now. I have a couple of recent enquiries to respond to and will do that tomorrow. This weekend has been one of Photoshoot Parties....on Saturday it was a birthday party for 18 nine year olds....and Sunday's party was for 5 twelve year olds, so a bit more civilized.

Well that's the holidays over and both girls back to school. last week we had a wonderful break at the cottage in Scourie, Sutherland - this pic taken in Balnakeil Durness is featured on Cocoa Mountain's facebook page. I'm now starting work on all the backlog of studio and location portraits from over the summer, plus a framed print of Plockton as well as all the admin that comes with running your own photography business. Hope you've had an excellent summer too and thanks for looking at my site.

This image was used as the key graphic to promote the open air production of Macbeth, part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We took the ferry to see it last night and it was amazing.

Saturday was a perfect day for Robyn and Brian's wedding at Bluebell Croft in Strontain, Ardnamurchan. It really is the perfect venue for small intimate weddings. I was very impressed with the place and the owners. The weather was great, the midgies stayed away and I got some amazing photographs. The bride looked stunning.

I've been invited back to do another wedding, so hoping the trip on the Corran Ferry becomes a regular occurrence. I love the west coast!

Well this afternoon we are heading north for the next Highland wedding in Strontian, Ardnamurchan. Really can't wait to be back on the road again and it's the first time back to Ardnamurchan for over a year. Making it even better is the high likelihood of seeing the Northern Lights this weekend. Fingers crossed for clear skies by day and night! Looking forward to getting some beautiful photographs.

The last 2 weeks have been very busy with studio portraits which has been perfect given the weather. Had the delights of a newborn baby, 3 sisters aged 15years, 3 years and 8 weeks old, a 16th birthday girl, two gorgeous 13 year olds and a very cute 9 year old with pink Dr Martens to die for!! Fun fun fun and lots of laughs. Girly girly girly!

This lovely pet portrait of Tank, a very handsome Cane Corso Italian Mastiff, won the MyBIGDog June photo competition! Don't forget I can take lovely photos of your pets either in your home, on location or in the studio. Your pet could be a winner too!

The ceremony was at mid-day on mid-summer...but as can happen in Scotland, the weather wasn't as kind as it could have been. Despite that Jody and Simon had a fantastic intimate wedding in one of our most gorgeous castles by Fintry. The wedding photographer did good, despite the drizzle and dark...so another happy wedding all round! :)

On Saturday I was lucky enough to spend the day working for the Forestry Commission at the Kilmacolm & Port Glasgow Agricultural Society Annual Show. It was a fantastic event with lots of beautiful prize winning farm animals, dogs and show jumping. There were plenty of stalls and fun activities for everyone. A great day out and the weather was ace :)

Last night was the prefect evening for Jon and Jane's pre wedding shoot in Bridge of Allan. We started at the Ivy, then on to the Memorial Gardens, finally finishing up at Aithrey Castle where Jane was born!

We arrived at Stirling University campus just as the Dumyat Hill race was ending....I don't know how they do it!

Anyway, we got some lovely shots and we're now all geared up for the wedding in June....won't be long :)

After a week spent working flat out on a tender deadline...it was time to change pace! So we spent a fantastic morning shooting the gorgeous Kirsten at the abandoned Dunmore Mansion near Airth. The light was smashing despite my fears...but we put the reflectors and softbox to work anyway with great results. Seems like we were very lucky - massive hailstones now :( Enjoy the holiday weekend!

Another busy week, and an exciting one for us as we've just become the owners of a gorgeous cross breed rescue dog called Buster! On the work front, the highlight of the week was being asked to photograph Primary 7 at Dunblane Primary School for their Graduation Year Book. The weather was grey and their black sweatshirts made it challenging, but I got some nice shots and some great group pictures too.

Just back from a wonderful break in Portugal with the family to find 2 more weddings have been confirmed!

Busy busy now collecting wedding and model shoot albums from the printers, organising refreshed marketing materials and working on a project with some outstanding and very unique wedding vintage cars.

This month Louise Bellin Photography got a full page centre spread in the Allanwater Herald and an image published in Scottish Field - so very happy! We were at the recent wedding fayre at Balathie House Hotel which was really well attended with a great selection of exhibitors. On Saturday I joined Graeme on the Tay. He was receiving expert Speycasting tuition and guided salmon fishing from Jock Monteith. A stunning day.

Well I'm very excited as I've just ordered new Bowens lighting - to arrive early next week. Will take my studio and location portrait work to another level.

This week has been busy meeting with clients and responding to wedding enquiries which are coming in thick and fast! The image here is one from a private shoot last week, with the brief being corporate images for professional web presence. It was great fun and I have another happy customer!

Well 2012 has got off to a good start. Had quite a few smaller jobs already and lots in the pipeline. Hightlight so far was Andy and Louise's wedding on Saturday at Glenbervie House Hotel. Will upload a good selection in due course.

I'm back in Scottish Field again with this wee shot taken from the abandoned mansion house in Upper Largo looking out over the Firth of Forth to the Bass Rock. I wonder if that old dead tree survived the storm last night...?

Still busy which is great. On Monday I delivered the family location prints taken at Doune Castle just in time for sending out with their Christmas cards. On Sunday I had a pre-wedding shoot at Culcruech Castle with Jodie and Simon who were great fun. Then Tuesday into Physiofocus to take staff headshots (out in the snow!) and some anatomy shots for their website. Images to follow. Hope everyone survived the storm!

We've been away for a bit on a fantastic holiday with the kids - a minimum of 30C, and then back to Scotland in time for the first frosts and snow on all the surrounding hills. Been a busy week starting with a family portrait session. Planning to revamp the website next week - so watch this space.

The wedding season is slowly winding down, and we move into autumn with more family portraits in the pipeline keep me busy! I'm also offering a series of gift vouchers at various prices for those hard to please ladies. Go on - treat them to a boudoir experience. The final images will look amazing and will make her feel so good about herself - you'll have earned yourself a year's supply of brownie points! Everyone should have some done, just as a wee self esteem boost. Girls - imagine the look on your Mr Wonderful's face if you were to gift him some truly hot pics of yourself as a lovely surprise! This tree always reminded me of "Hallaig" by the legendary Scottish poet Sorely MacLean.

I was delighted to be contacted recently by Ceol's Craic asking if they could use the image in their publicity material for a tribute night on the centenary of Sorely MacLean's birth. The event will take place at the CCA (Cetnre for Contempoary Arts) on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.

Whilst Louise Bellin Photography is going from strength to strength I've teamed up with Gavin Anderson to offer full coverage on events and weddings. Gavin has been in the photography industry for over 20 years and specialises in underwater photography.

Working together allows us the opportunity to capture formal proceedings and also to catch those very special candid and reportage shots.

This image is part of the fantastic Hide & Seek exhibition which has been on display at the Perth Museum since 5th February 2011 and runs until 30th April 2011.

The exhibition showcases the talents of a small group of Perthshire nature photographers who I had the pleasure of meeting at the launch night. Do go along - it's well worth it and completely free!

On Monday I covered the launch of SEPA's Floodline warning service. The event was held at New Register House and launched by Roseanna Cunningham, MSP.

It's been a very busy month for me, having sold more of my Scottish Castle limited prints, and confirmed wedding and honeymoon bookings. The only downside is that I should have been going to Iceland next week...but am unable to make it. Hope to get there soon!

I found out today this image came runner up in the Scottish Environment Protection Agency call for images: Winter & the Environment. As such it has won me £25 :D

My new camera is here. I have added a "Kit List" section. I am absolutely blown away with what this piece of kit can produce. One very happy photographer! Watch this space....

Well I had high hopes for lots of new images...but since Christmas Eve the light has been dreadful. I'm still getting to grips with my new lens, and plan an early start tomorrow morning to capture an image I have been itching to try for at least 6 months. Will keep you posted! Had a great walk with friends today....and although we enjoyed great views - the light remained flat.

2010 has been a wonderful year for me and I have learnt so much and seen so much more of this stunning country.

2011 will be a year to move on and I'm so looking forward to it. Best wishes to everyone who has been part of my life in 2010. All the best for 2011 - anything is possible, and if you want something bad enough - you will get it. Make the most of every moment. Happy New Year!!! xxx

Sorry - once again I have been so busy - working hard and been on a jaunt south of the Border. Today has been sledging and snowman building - we hope it stays like this until March! I cannot believe over a month has passed since my last post... I have been really busy - the house was covered in scaffolding for a couple of weeks, both the integrated microwave and the central heating packed in, and work has been completely mad. We're still smiling though :D On the positive family & friends have been wonderful, I've finally decided on my new full frame dslr, been working on a home studio, and we've had 4 lovely days at the cottage on Loch Fyne.
